Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe. – Albert Einstein

This Act May Be Cited As The “_______Act of______ ’’. The Teachers Job Bill

Congress has passed a $26 billion dollar bill today which provides additional funds that will keep teachers in school and out of unemployment lines. The bill will also provide additional funding to states for medicaid. The bill, like any bill put forth by the Democrats, is sure to be a “job killer”.

The issue of whether or not unions will be eligible to take cookies from the cookie jar, is yes. This is illustrated in the paragraph begining on page 4, titled “REQUIREMENT TO USE FUNDS TO RETAIN OR CREATE EDUCATION JOBS.” states “Notwithstanding section 14003(a) of division A of Public Law 111–5, funds awarded to local educational agencies under paragraph (3) (A) may be used only for compensation and benefits and other expenses, such as support services, necessary to retain existing employees, to recall or rehire former employees, and to hire new employees, in order to provide early child6hood, elementary, or secondary educational and related services.” Fortunately a 2% cap was put on administration costs, found on page 3, but not cap on union costs.

In a Fox News article titled “84 Days to Decide: Democrats Roll Dice With Education Aid Vote” Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels was interviewed. In the interview he stated “This stunning display of tone-deafness comes at the expense of American workers, who will be hit by another job-killing tax hike because Washington Democrats can’t kick their addiction to more government ‘stimulus’ spending. Democrats should be listening to their constituents.” Thats right folks this is going to be a tax hike even though the same article claims that this bill will be paid for by a spontaneous cut in food stamps and tax hikes for multinational corporations. The bill, in a section entitled “SUNSET OF TEMPORARY INCREASE IN BENEFITS UNDER THE SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM” on page 14, clearly outlines how this cut in food stamps is completely out of the blue.

The article also speaks of the tax hike on multinational corporations. The title of the section that addresses this issue sounds something like this “DENIAL OF FOREIGN TAX CREDIT WITH RESPECT TO FOREIGN INCOME NOT SUBJECT TO UNITED STATES TAXATION BY REASON OF COVERED ASSET ACQUISITIONS”. Tax hike, ending a tax credit to foreign companies who are not subject to states taxation, whats the difference, I don’t see one.

The two cuts the article claims will be used to pay for this bill are, according to the bill, not the only cuts being made (you decide, who’s telling the truth;bill or fox). The bill includes a list of cuts from several sectors of the government that will be used in order to pay for this bill, or at least thats what the bill says. The list of the rescissions begins on page 38.

In conclusion this is another one of those bills that pose a great threat to our nation. With all these teachers running around, how are corporations supposed to dumb down the population in order to get the cheap labor they need to continue taking astronomical bonuses.
